A. Lange & Söhne - Blue Series

As if Lange don't already have enough watches I can't live without - or afford - now they have gone and released a number of models in my favourite dial colour: the Lange 1, Lange 1 Daymatic, Saxonia and Saxonia Automatic. I think they are a very beautiful addition to the collection. Different, but still very Lange.

A. Lange & Söhne - Saxonia

One of the many things I love about A. Lange & Söhne is the homogeneity of their catalogue. I guess this is largely a product of the fact that the company’s current incarnation is only 25 or so years old. If you take their starting line – the Saxonia – and put it next to another offering ten times the price, both pieces look like they belong together and the Saxonia still looks like a beautiful, classic and desirable object; definitely not a poor cousin. And if you add Lange’s most adventurous design into the mix – the Zeitwerk – you start building one happy family. Unlike some venerable manufactures who may have an entire range that is just plain ugly, Lange has nothing to be embarrassed about. I think last year’s revamp of the Saxonia (including the Saxonia Automatic and the Saxonia Dual Time) has improved it immensely, and I’m glad that this year Lange have reworked the Saxonia Thin and introduced the Saxonia Moon Phase.
