Romain Gauthier - Insight Micro-Rotor

Romain Gauthier's newest piece is automatic and puts the eponymous micro rotor on display from both sides, using bridges to hold it up for all to see - and there's quite a lot to see here for a time-only piece. I also like how Romain Gauthier can bling up their watches without detracting from the fact they're mechanical marvels, though personally I love the smooth and sensuous shape of their cases just on their own.

Jaeger-LeCoultre - Gyrotourbillon 1

When I was first developing my appreciation for mechanical watches, one of the first pieces to enthral me with its fascinatingly complex inner workings was the Gyrotourbillon 1. It was made in several versions - even bedecked with diamonds if that's what it takes to get you interested, though why one would want to look at diamonds instead of the movement is a mystery to me.

A Blog to Watch has an excellent insight into the gyrotourbillon itself, written by Dávid Bredán, which you can find here.
